For anyone connected with Wisconsin Dells and its "water business"

KahunaAccidentale

Tell me these aren't unlikely promotional possibilities

For starters, could you just imagine a Wisconsin Dells T-shirt being worn by the famous Peeing Boy of Brussels (Mannekin-Pis), and managing to attract attention in the Belgian capital (not to mention headquarters of the European Union) in the process?

Or, for that matter, a Wisconsin Dells T-shirt being fitted onto Liverpool's statue of Eleanor Rigby?

But then again, on the other hand, don't look for a Wisconsin Dells-themed perfume or scent anytime soon: While on his recent vacation there, Your Correspondent learned from a perfumery @ Tanger Outlets there, on seeing so many licenced colognes and perfumes to be found (and @ cut prices, in typical outlet-centre stylee), that the Waterpark Capital is the sort as emphasises practicality over vanity ... so much so, in fact, that they'd get queasy over the very prospect of Wisconsin Dells cologne or, for that matter, toiletries (especially if the Visitor and Convention Bureau's logotype was used, under licence, inevitably enough).

And speaking of the logotype, Your Correspondent spotted some stainless-steel water bottles @ Bailey's Landing and the Winnebago Gift Shop, downtown Wisconsin Dells, which used something too remarkably close as could raise trademark infringement, dilution and unfair competition issues with the Bureau; Your Correspondent, thankfully, addressed them and should probably be taking action within measurable distance.

*************

Whether we'll be seeing this as viable competition in the 2010 season is anybody's guess:

Suggestion has been advanced to the Bureau about a competition to award a free week's vacation in the Waterpark Capital to the family driving there not just the farthest distance, but also driving there in the most fuel-efficient manner (as in doing so with the fewest miles per gallon for their particular type of vehicle, per the standard formula of dividing fuel-tank capacity by distance travelled between fill-ups).

Take that, ye "Wise Use" Zealots and True Believers seeing the wasteful and inefficient as one with True Patriot Love in All Thy Sons Command!
