First off, Your Correspondent graciously apologises for not having taken too much time with DellsSpace all this time; I admit he's been rather busy with a lot of other things running across his mind, but he still wants it known that he
still cares about
the Waterpark Capital.
In any case, this being the Memorial Day long weekend, this pretty much marks the traditional start of the summer season in The Once and Future Waterpark Capital of the World, the Universe and the 28 Known Galaxies ... and considering the socioeconomic state of affairs prevailing, how it will turn out is anybody's guess. Especially because last summer was a quasi-washout thanks to Lake Delton's sudden drainage in shock rainstorms last 9th June ... out of which quite a few people pulled in to put Lake Delton back to its rightful place of pride as part of the Wisconsin Dells Experience.
Hopefully, the results will more than pay for themselves, especially with
the Tommy Bartlett Show making its much-anticipated comeback on Tommy Bartlett Bay in an all-new production (and if you remember last summer's attempt to make do, with crowds not exactly what they were, let's just hope so).
Speaking of which, "The Show" will have free admission to its two daily performances (16h30 and 20h30) on Tuesday, 9 June to mark Lake Delton's triumphant return. Be sure to arrive early for the best seats, and consider staying the night in the bargain. (And note that "The Show" now has only two performances; the 13h30 matinee has been discontinued.)
Of note, too, is where
Noah's Ark has remodelled Noah's Incredible Adventure this season into a new "potboiler" type of adventure by name "Curse of the Crypt." (Because of its frightening and scary nature, Noah's wishes it to be known that such is Not Suitable for Young Children or the Easily-Influenced.)
Riverview Park and Waterworld, for its part, is going on the retro side, adding eight new rides in classical amusement-park stylee certain to appeal to families of all ages.
Still, though, one thing Wisconsin Dells could use is decent public transportation, especially so in form of jitneys as could cruise The Broadway and Dells Parkway as far as the Kalahari Resort and Tanger Outlets, serving all the major distractions and motel areas well into the evening.
