For anyone connected with Wisconsin Dells and its "water business"
Finally! A blog community for the Waterpark Capital's fans!
Your Correspondent would like you to think of DellsSpace, this social-networking community for the residents and friends of The Waterpark Capital of the World, as your community.
After all, there are no doubt many of you out there who, in their fondness for Wisconsin Dells, wanted to make your presence known on social-networking sites online ... but, in trying the established such like MySpace or Facebook, found yourself proverbially "crying in the wilderness," as it were, trying to attract notice.
This goes for pretty much any of you in the Wisconsin Dells/Lake Delton community who reside there, and yet have to deal with the millions of tourists visiting every year ...
Those of you with a familial attachment to Wisconsin Dells as may have been established long before Wisconsin Dells became known as The Waterpark Capital of the World ...
And those of you with fond memories of working in Wisconsin Dells over a summer or two, now or in past.
And with that in mind, Your Correspondent, as a longtime visitor to Wisconsin Dells, feels it worthwhile to return something to that summer resort he's come to love all this time. Hence, DellsSpace is the result.
After all, H.H. Bennett, the photographer who made Wisconsin Dells famous with his photography, perhaps said it best towards the end of his life when he wrote to a friend that "My energies for near a lifetime have been dedicated to winning such praise as I could in outdoor photography, and in this effort I could not help falling in love with the Dells. There are few who see them who don't become infatuated with them in a greater or less degree...."
I guess you'd have to agree.
